Disclaimers
Michigan LLC Supervision (Available in 2026)
Michigan Counselors Training Institute (MCTI) provides in-person supervision services to individuals within a 10-mile radius of the business's primary location in Novi, Michigan, as well as virtual supervision services to individuals throughout the state of Michigan.

Supervision will be conducted according to the Professional Disclosure Statement that will be provided to supervisees and this will service as a legally binding contract between the supervisor and supervisee. As such, mentees agree to thoroughly read through this contract before signing and uphold its terms at all times.

Supervision is solely for Michigan mental health counselors who have achieved at least a master's degree in the field and are practicing with a Limited Licensed Counselor (LLC) license. Supervisees must also have an active professional liability insurance policy covering at least $1M for each claim and $3M aggregate. Supervisees will provide supervisor with a copy of their license and insurance policy prior to engaging in services and supervisor reserves the right to contact issuers to verify the license and insurance policy are active.

If a supervisee has had disciplinary action taken against their professional license, said supervisee will immediately report this to supervisor. While this will not necessarily limit the LLC's ability to receive supervision, the supervisor reserves the right to deny or discontinue services at any time based on the specifics of the action taken or failure to report. The supervisor also reserves the right to inquire about the action taken and any resolution made with licensing board.

All confidential HIPAA-protected client data, including PHI, will remain protected throughout the supervision relationship and indefinitely thereafter. All relevant ethical codes will also be followed (see Supervisor's Professional Disclosure Statement for more information).

Should a supervisee blatantly and intentionally violate ethical codes for practice and/or breach confidentiality and cause harm to a client and/or anyone with whom the client includes in their treatment (not withholding any parties only mentioned by client in treatment), supervisee understands that the supervisor is a mandated reporter who is responsible for making a report as necessary. Supervisee also understands that the supervisor has a duty to warn. Supervisee acknowledges the potential for the situation to constitute immediate termination of the supervisor/supervisee relationship.

Supervisee acknowledges that the terms of the supervision relationship may change from time to time. Supervisor will make every attempt to notify supervisee of any changes and supervisee also agrees to check this disclaimer from time to time for updated information.

Supervisee agrees to make supervisor aware of any situation in which a client or another party could be in imminent danger (i.e., the client is deemed a potential harm to self or others and/or the client may be harmed by others).

Mentorship
Michigan Counselors Training Institute (MCTI) provides in-person mentorship services to individuals within a 10-mile radius of the business's primary location in Novi, Michigan, as well as virtual mentorship to individuals throughout the United States. Mentees must possess knowledge of the counseling profession and a desire to work and/or acquire a degree, license, or other specialty or certification within this capacity.

Mentorship will be conducted according to MCTI's Mentorship Contract which will be provided to mentees prior to engaging in services and will service as a legally binding contract between the mentor and mentee. As such, mentees agree to thoroughly read through the contract before signing and uphold its terms at all times.

Mentees acknowledge that mentorship is different from supervision and counseling clients, treatment specifics and any other confidential, HIPAA protected information including any PHI will not be discussed during mentorship sessions. Rather, the purpose of mentorship is to provide mentees with guidance in establishing and/or navigating their careers.
Mentorship may include discussions about academics, personal growth, practice history, current and future goals, and other information that is more general, mentee-specific, and business-related than what is provided through clinical supervision. Thus, mentorship has a wider reach and can be conducted with counseling students and professionals nationwide. At times, the mentor will draw on personal experiences, when relevant, to help the mentee in their own journey.

Mentees understand that while mentor is familiar with certain laws and regulations within the State of Michigan, the purpose of the mentorship relationship is not to solicit legal advice. Mentees acknowledge the mentor is not a legal professional and will not solicit any legal advice at any time nor hold mentor liable in any way whatsoever for any legal action taken by mentee or against mentee.

Mentees acknowledge that mentor is in no way liable for any action taken by mentee during or after the mentorship relationship. Mentees also acknowledge that the terms of the mentorship relationship may change from time to time. Mentor will make every attempt to notify mentee of any changes and mentee also agrees to check this disclaimer from time to time for updated information.

Site Visitors
All site visitors acknowledge that supervision and mentorship services are in high demand and, from time to time, there will not be any openings for one or both of these services. If a service(s) is full, anyone who inquires about and/or books this service on MCTI's website will be notified within 72 business hours. If a waitlist is available and the individual choses to be added to it, they will be notified when the service becomes available again and will be able to pursue services on a first come, first serve basis.

Site visitors acknowledge that supervision is only available to Michigan Limited Licensed Counselors with active licensure and professional liability insurance that meets the requirements above. Site visitors also acknowledge the supervisor reserves the right to inquire about a potential supervisee's ability to practice and to deny and/or discontinue services at any time, if deemed necessary.

Site visitors acknowledge that mentorship is available to individuals throughout the United States. This service excludes all countries, territories, and other locales outside of the U.S. Mentees must possess knowledge of the counseling profession and a desire to work and/or acquire a degree, license, or other specialty or certification within this capacity. Site visitors also acknowledge the supervisor reserves the right to inquire about any information reported that may hinder the mentorship relationship and deny and/or discontinue services at any time, if deemed necessary.

If site user contact information has been shared, site administrators will make every effort to inform these users about changes. All site visitors agree to review the terms and conditions outlined on this page from time to time to stay informed about any changes.
